The Scottish Motor Trade Association and the Office of Fair Trading give lots of good advice regarding what to do before sourcing your MOT, servicing or repairs. They run campaigns and publish informative documents to help educate both consumers and garages.

Both the Scottish Motor Trade Association and the Office of Fair Trading have brought around great change in the industry by working together to establish codes of practice for garages and removing new vehicle servicing ties. The SMTA and OFT advice all motorists to shop around and compare garage prices before making their choice.
